The human brain has more capabilities than you can imagine

The human brain is indeed a marvel, with more capabilities than most of us can imagine. You can train it and force it to work differently. This, in turn, will determine the way you will live.

1. The brain can't tell the difference between the real and the imagined.

Your brain reacts to all events that happen in your life, no matter if they are real or just in your imagination. For this reason, the placebo effect is possible.

If your brain thinks that you take a pill (not a candy), it responds consequently. Take a placebo instead of aspirin, and the brain gives the commands to the organism to lower your body temperature. The nocebo effect works the same but in a backward direction. If hypochondriacs watch the news about an outbreak of a new disease, they can even get to feel the physical symptoms.

The good news is if you look at the world through pink glasses, you can feel happiness more often because of the high level of serotonin in the blood. Serotonin helps regulate your mood naturally. When your serotonin levels are at a normal level, you should feel more focused, emotionally stable, happier, and calmer.

Therefore positive thinking or dreams about your happy future are able to promote your physical condition right here, right now. The best way to manage stress is to reprogram your thinking.

2. You notice in the external environment those things you think about.

Whatever you think about, it becomes the source of your life experience. Let's imagine you bought a car specific brand. You will instantly see more vehicles of this brand on the roads. The reason is that after the purchase of your car, you start thinking about it more than you used to.

The same happens when you start to analyze the political situation highlighted by different media, you will likely pay attention and believe those which represent your perspective.

There's more to it. Have you noticed that people are grouped by interests? The optimists make friends with optimists, and hypochondriacs make friends with hypochondriacs. It is not a coincidence.

If you want to change anything in your life, you should start with changing the thought patterns.

3. Your brain works on autopilot mode most of the time.

On average, the human brain generates 60 thousand thoughts each day. However, 40 thousands of them are the same thoughts you had yesterday. That is the reason why it is so important to switch the everyday environment to a new one. It helps to "clean" your mind. If you have got a negative perception of life, the best way to change it is to switch the everyday environment to a new positive one.

Train your brain. Force it to record positive thoughts. The more you try, the faster and easier you would get better at it. Live the conscious life means trying to take the responsibilities for all unconscious processes.

The long-term aim is to achieve the state when primarily positive thoughts appear in your brain.

4. Mental breaks are of vital importance.

The negative thoughts cause stress and anxiety even if there is no actual reason. Your immune system is getting weaker just because it has to respond to it (read point 1).  You can be overloaded with thousands of negative thoughts that are stuck in your mind. Mental breaks give some respite to your immune system and make you healthier and happier.

The easiest way is to "turn off" your brain is through meditation. It allows turning your consciousness into a manageable and effective instrument.

Additionally, when you have a holiday, try outdoor activities such as skiing, scuba diving, climbing. These activities will take all our attention and make you clean your head from your day-to-day routine.

5. You can change your brain on the physical level and transform yourself.

Neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity, is the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization. Examples of neuroplasticity include circuit and network changes that result from learning a new ability, environmental influences, practice, and psychological stress. When you concentrate on some mental activity, new neural chains are built in your brain.

If you think you can not lose some weight, you will become more determined in this thought. However, if you change this pattern to one declaring that you are in good physical shape,  your brain will build new neural chains. You will notice new opportunities that will turn this subconscious setting into a new reality.

You have an opportunity to submit your consciousness and transform yourself. You have the chance to get all you want. The main thing is to believe in it. Each physical process begins with the thoughts in our mind.
